Goals and Future Plans
Goal 1:
- Indicator to Improve on: Coach teachers in and model engagement of students in local and global interdisciplinary units in which technology helps students assume professional roles, research real-world problems, collaborate with others, and produce products that are meaningful and useful to a wide audience.
- Action Plan: In order to continue to gain competence in this indicator I plan to collaborate with teachers at my site and continue to expand the Google + Community. I would also continue to research new technologies and implement them in my out classroom. Collaboration is key to achieving this feat, and sharing tech resources amongst educators will help expand our knowledge for new technologies. This will also help me develop as an Educational Technology Coach to better prepare my future trainees.
- Indicator to Improve on: Coach teachers in and model use of online and blended learning, digital content, and collaborative learning networks to support and extend student learning as well as expand opportunities and choices for online professional development for teachers and administrators.
- Action Plan: My goal is to complete several directive study courses online using Haiku. The experience I gain in my EDEL 590 in developing online PD course will transfer over in developing effective and engaging online courses for several of my students. I will also continue to experiments with Google Classroom and Edmodo as sources for online and blended learning. Throughout this school year I will also continue to mentor several teachers as the continue using Google Classroom.
- Indicator to Improve on: Engage in continuous learning to deepen professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions in organizational change and leadership, project management, and adult learning to improve professional practice.
- Action Plan: To try and attend as many webinars and conferences as possible. Realistically, I will like to attend 3 Educational Technology courses and at least 5 webinar/online courses. It is imperative that as a coach I continue to expand my network and keep up to date with the new trends and best practices out there.
- Thinking of the future and beyond, I would like to continue to be the influence of change that motivates other teachers to utilize new technology tools to enhance and facilitate learning. It is my mission to be as knowledgeable and experience with as many technology tools so I can continue to train educators at my site and beyond. My ultimate goal is to become a Director of Educational Technology at a school district, to be able to influence policy to engage and motivate students in learning by utilizing technology. I will get there by continuing to grow as an tech leader and getting as much training as I can get. I am also strongly considering on going for my administrative credentials for the next school year.
