4. Professional Development and Program Evaluation
ISTE Coach Standards in Action
a. Conduct needs assessments to inform the content and delivery of technology-related professional learning programs that result in a positive impact on student learning.
In the summer of 2015, I conducted a Google Drive training for 54 teachers, administrators and counselors. The purpose of this survey was to inform me of the need for content and delivery of technology-related professional development. The results indicated that 87% of teachers, administrators and counselors have never received any formal type of training in using Google Education Apps. The survey results clearly indicate a need for more formal training in using Google apps at the sites. YouthBuild Charter School is transitioning to requiring staff members to utilize Google Apps to collaborate and turn in work, nonetheless, there is not much support in assisting educators in this process. My goal of the survey is to analyze the results and develop a meaningful professional development (PD) for the Winter PD of 2016 to address the needs as a result of the survey.
Both my final courses at Cal State Fullerton's Masters of Science in Educational Technology have been developing my skills in creating a meaningful professional development that is engaging and purposeful. Throughout both courses, I have been developing professional development trainings both online as mentioned on Standard 3 and gearing up to our next in person professional development in January of 2016.

This survey and it's results meets this indicator by analyzing the results to provide the best possible professional development for the staff of YouthBuild Charter School online and during our in person professional development session. The results indicate what Google Apps they would like to receive more training in and what types of professional development tools would be developed. The overall result is to positively impact student learning by incorporating Google Apps for Education in a successful and meaningful manner. This will only result with teachers that are properly trained to take up this task.
